West Balkan Countries in the European Research Area

WBC-INCO.NET is an FP7 funded project, running from 2008-2013.

29 partners are participating in the consortium (S&T ministries, agencies and analytical partners.)
The project aims to enhance the integration of the Western Balkan Countries (WBC) in the European Research Area.
The core objectives of the project is to support the bi-regional dialogue on science and technology; to identify RTDI cooperation potentials and priorities; to enhance participation of researchers from the region in European projects; to analyse innovation needs and barriers in the WBC, to exchange information and best practice on innovation policies and to prepare an Action Plan for further WBC cooperation int he field of innovation; and to establish closer cooperation between research and innovation; strengthen the intrasectoral dialogue and to support the trainings of innovation stakeholders.
To enhance the understanding of the national innovation system in the WBC, and map the innovation on infrastructure and stakeholders, a report had been created for each WB countries. The report indentifies innovation related government institutions, programmes, and innovation infrastructures such as Technology and Innovation Centres, Clusters etc. The repost is based on desk research, questionnaires and interviews and soon will be published also ont he homepage of WBC-INCO.Net.
